Regional Capacity Development

E-mail Print PDF
Since 2007, NATURAL JUSTICE has been working with the GTZ-coordinated ABS Capacity Development Initiative for Africa (the Initiative). The Initiative is a multi-donor initiative that has delivered technical and legal capacity building to a range of stakeholders across Africa over three years. The Initiative provides training to implementing partner countries on best practice of ABS regulation implementation, extensive workshop opportunities to discuss localised issues as they affect ABS, and a platform on which governments and other bodies can address ABS issues peculiar to the African context. NATURAL JUSTICE has been providing its resources and know-how to the Initiative in the form of training and advice. Through that work, we have become legal advisors to the African Group and have been involved in drafting operational text for the 7th meeting of the Working Group on ABS. We also report on the workshops and produce ABS case studies for the Initiative’s website. For more information on the Initiative, please go to www.abs-africa.info.
